Peshtan is near Tepelena, the Castle of Ali Pasha.
Lord Byron stayed for a holiday with Ali Pasha 150 years ago. The relatives of our translator Juli are still living in the castle.
The river you see in the photo shot from the city walls (exactly the place where Juli played as a kid) is the Vjosa, the last free-flowing river of Europe.
